The most notable detail is Trump’s reported nickname at Winged Foot Golf Club—“Pele”—a reference to the famous Brazilian soccer star. This nickname came about because Trump was often seen kicking his ball into more favorable positions. Bryan Marsal, a club member, recalls Trump saying, “I cheat, and I expect you to cheat too because we’re going to win.”

This nickname and these stories highlight Trump’s competitive nature and his willingness to bend rules to win, a trait that divides opinion between critics and supporters.
