Mom of 2 moves into first home but dog starts to act strangely – then she looks closer at the walls

mber Hall, a mother of two, thought she had finally found her perfect first home in Centennial, Colorado—a spacious four-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a great backyard for her children and dogs. After weeks of searching, she was excited to move in and start making memories. But soon after moving, Amber noticed her dog acting strangely near one of the walls while she was unpacking.

Curious, she looked closer and was shocked to see large snakes slithering inside the wall beside the door that leads from the garage to the backyard. It turned out the snakes were big garter snakes, an unusual and frightening discovery. Since then, Amber has found about ten snakes inside the house and fears there may be many more hiding unseen.

The snakes had apparently been living there for possibly two years. Amber hired a snake wrangler to humanely remove the snakes, but the experience has left her terrified. She’s afraid to unpack her belongings or even relax, worried that snakes might be hiding in boxes or bedsheets. At 42, this is Amber’s first home, and after years of hard work, she struggles to enjoy it with this ongoing problem.

So far, Amber has spent around $1,000 on snake removal and says she won’t feel comfortable until the house is fully inspected and repaired, possibly even ripping up concrete to find where the snakes are living.

This situation is every homeowner’s nightmare. What would you do if you discovered snakes living inside your walls? Share your thoughts and advice
