5.2 Earthquake Hits Near San Diego, Felt as Far as Los Angeles. A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Julian, California, late Monday night, shaking parts of San Diego and even reaching Los Angeles, 120 miles away.

Despite the strong tremor, no injuries or damage were reported, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Residents received a rare early alert about five seconds before the quake hit.
