Bearded Man Seen Cheering After Charlie Kirk Shooting Breaks Silence, Explains His Actions

A bearded man caught on camera appearing to celebrate during the chaos following Charlie Kirk’s assassination has come forward to explain that people misunderstood his actions. Viral Video Sparks Outrage. A video from the incident at Utah Valley University on Wednesday quickly went viral. It showed a man wearing a T-shirt and baseball cap raising his arms and cheering. He later explained that he was shouting “USA! USA!” to get people’s attention.

Many viewers found the scene disturbing and believed he was celebrating Kirk’s death. The clip gained millions of views on X and became one of the most widely shared images from the event. “I Wasn’t Celebrating”. The man, who identifies himself as David, said in a two-minute video on X that he was not cheering but trying to calm the fear around him. He explained, “When I heard a loud crack, I thought it was fireworks or a prank gone wrong.

I only realized it was a gun when no one showed up.” He thought Kirk was seriously hurt based on how others reacted. Without thinking, he shouted “USA” not to provoke anyone, but to show strength, encourage others, and create a distraction to help calm the panic and possibly save lives.

Confusing Messages
David also stated that he is “not very familiar with Charlie Kirk’s content” and “would never wish harm on anyone.” However, in a later video, he spoke cryptically, saying, “My soldiers, including Charlie, are dying so you guys can make fun of each other.” He also called himself “the happiest person you’ll ever meet,” though he did not clarify who he meant by “my soldiers.”

The Tragedy’s Impact
Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot during a student debate and died after being hit in the neck. His murder has been widely condemned across political lines. Former President Donald Trump described him as “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk.” Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder after a manhunt. Authorities revealed that Robinson’s own father recognized him in FBI-released images and turned him in.

Unanswered Questions
As Robinson awaits trial, David’s viral moment highlights how quickly tragedy and confusion can be misunderstood online. David insists that what some saw as a heartless celebration was actually his attempt to calm the crowd. He said, “I would never cheer for someone’s death. I just wanted to stop the panic.”
