New Details Revealed About the Nearly 2 Dozen Young Girls Confirmed Missing from Christian Camp After Devastating Texas Floods

New details have been revealed about the young girls who remain missing following devastating floods in Texas this week. Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced in a press conference that 23 girls are still unaccounted for out of the approximately 750 girls attending Camp Mystic, a Christian girls-only summer camp located near the Guadalupe River. The camp was hit hard by the sudden flooding, which forced emergency evacuations and rescue efforts.

Families of the missing girls have been speaking with local news outlets, sharing their fears and hopes as search and rescue operations continue. Many cabins at the camp were flooded or damaged when the Guadalupe River rose rapidly, reaching its second-highest level ever recorded, according to ABC affiliate Eyewitness News.

The catastrophic floods struck Central Texas on Friday, July 4, causing widespread destruction across the region. At least 24 people lost their lives in Kerr County, while one person died in Kendall County as a result of the floodwaters, CNN reported. Emergency responders and volunteers are working tirelessly to find the missing girls and assist those affected by the disaster.

The tragedy has raised serious concerns about emergency preparedness and response at summer camps and other facilities in flood-prone areas. Authorities are continuing their investigations as families await news about their loved ones. The community remains united in support of the victims and their families during this difficult time.
