An elderly man riding a motorcycle died this afternoon when he collided head-on with a vehicle driven by a teenager on a curve in a community in the municipality of Guasave.
The Citizen Security Secretariat reported that the victim’s life was named Herodes N., 50 years old, a resident of Orba, who died instantly.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, June 21, on the state highway that connects the municipality of Nio to Bamoa, near the community of Orba, part of the municipality of Bamoa Pueblo.
The information establishes that the victim was riding a red and white Italika FT 125 motorcycle, model 2024, when, as he was passing through the curve in the Orba community, he collided head-on with a gold Ford Focus vehicle, model 2001.
The impact hit the driver’s side headlight, causing the motorcyclist to be thrown and fall against the windshield. He then hit the pavement where he came to rest. Although Red Cross paramedics arrived at the scene minutes later, nothing could be done to save his life; he is presumed dead instantly.
While the driver of the vehicle that collided with the motorcycle is a 16-year-old teenager, he only got the fright of his life, but fortunately he was unharmed.
Members of the Sustainable Mobility Directorate responded to the scene and cordoned off the area. They subsequently notified the State Attorney General’s Office to take the necessary action.
Shortly afterward, personnel from the General Directorate of Forensic Services arrived and searched the scene to determine responsibility and determine who had entered the oncoming lane.
